What is 'Freeview' ?

logoFreeview What is 'Freeview' ?

Via a digital set top box that uses your roof-top aerial, you can receive the new free to air terrestrial digital television and radio channels. With simply a one-off payment for the set-top-box and no channel subscription, Freeview receivers are easy to self-install and the perfect solution for those who want basic digital television. They are also ideal if you already have a satellite system but want a second independent system providing the complete line up of nationally available BBC TV and radio channels, ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4, Channel 5 plus a few other channels. Freeview is operated by the BBC and Crown Castle International, and partly funded by the BBC license fee.

Is the picture quality better with FREEVIEW?

You should have an improved picture in areas where there is poor quality analogue reception. In some areas of the country you will receive significantly improved Channel 5 reception. You can also get Widescreen broadcasts.
